Pick the day she was inseminated to see her dates.
How the dates are worked out.
Every animal is different, so the calving date is a window, not a promise. Watch her closely in the last two weeks.
- 1
Cows and buffaloes carry for different times
A cow carries her calf for about 283 days, a buffalo for about 310. Counting a buffalo like a cow puts her calving almost a month early. - 2
Watch for heat on day 21
If she didn't take, she comes back into heat about 21 days later. Inseminate again 12 to 18 hours after the heat starts. - 3
Check her from day 42
By day 42 the vet can tell if she is pregnant. Found open, she can be served again a cycle sooner. - 4
Dry her off 60 days before
Stopping milking 60 days before calving lets her udder rest, for more milk after the calf. Expect the calf within 10 days either side of the date.
Cattlo keeps these dates for every animal.
Record a heat or an insemination with two taps, and the app reminds you on each of these days, for the whole herd, in Urdu or English.
